WCEL functions as an integral part of the IUCN Environmental Law Program (ELP) which includes close collaboration with the Center for Environmental Law (ELC).<\/p>\n<p>With worldwide membership, WCEL not only takes the lead in its own projects, but also provides a source of expertise for the Center for Environmental Law and other parts of IUCN. The Commission therefore serves as the main source of technical legal advice to the Union, its members and its collaborating institutions on all aspects of environmental law.
