The Association of Environmentalists of Catalonia has announced the list of finalists for the 2nd edition of the Environmental Sciences Awards, which it awards annually. The winners and runners-up will be announced on 22 November as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of their studies in Environmental Sciences at the University of Girona. The winning projects will be awarded an eco-design award.
Within the category of research activity, a work published by Joan Pons, a member of INSTA, on the legal regulation of environmental services in ecosystems in Catalonia has been a finalist. This work delves into experiences of legal regulation of these services around the world, analyzing real cases, and shelling out some of the incipient experiences in Catalonia and its legal framework.
The work, which will soon be published in the URV’s “Quaderns de Dret Ambiental” collection, makes a general proposal for a legal and conceptual framework for ecosystem environmental services in Catalonia.
