Next January 16, 2024 we will hold a workshop on ” Environmental dialogue and resolution of environmental conflicts “, in the Degree Hall of the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the Rovira i Virgili University, Tarragona (Campus Catalunya).

The objective of the event is to provide a space for reflection around the environmental conflicts of the territory and their approach from methods of dialogue and participation. In addition to addressing several theoretical and regulatory aspects related to environmental conflicts and their resolution, we will have the opportunity to learn first-hand the experiences and experiences of people who have participated in environmental dialogue processes, related, for example, to the reintroduction process of the brown bear in the Catalan Pyrenees, the implementation of renewable energies in the Alt Penedès, as well as in other multi-party dialogue experiences. For this we will have the participation of Professor Lucía Casado Casado and Mr. Óscar Expósito López from Rovira i Virgili University and members of the MEDAM project; Mr. Ricard Casanovas, Head of the Fauna and Flora Service of the Generalitat de Catalunya; Mrs. Sigrid Muñiz, member of the Center for Territorial Sustainability – CST and Coordinator of the EUDEMON project; Mrs. Montse Ecija Ferrer, Head of the Environmental Entities and Citizen Participation Section of the Generalitat de Catalunya; Mr. Oscar Negredo Carrillo, coordinator of the Community Mediation Service of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat City Council; Mr. Joan Pons Solé, representative at INSTA. In addition, we will be accompanied by Aidà Almirall Serra and Lola Montejo Cunilleras, from Tésera Mediació.

This event, which has the collaboration of Rovira i Virgili University and Tésera Mediació, will take place within the framework of our ongoing project “Environmental dialogue for the future of all” (financed by the Generalitat de Catalunya, Call Projects Singular 2023) and which aims to improve environmental protection and restore human bonds affected by conflict through the development of an environmental dialogue service.
