Payment for ecosystem services in the basin of the Rialb reservoir
In the framework of the European project SINCERE and coordinated by the Forest Property Center, Joan Pons of INSTA offered a training session for the design of a payment program for forest ecosystem services in the Rialb reservoir basin.
The aim of the training was to highlight the main aspects to be taken into account, to provide examples of similar programs from other countries and at the same time to make specific proposals for the operation and legal framework for the specific case.
As a result of this session, INSTA was also commissioned to prepare a report on the administrative and fiscal mechanism that a future forest ecosystem services payment system should have.
